今日は、第二次世界大戦中、ドイツのユダヤ人虐殺（ホロコースト）に対して、ユダヤ人を
救ったアラブ人について、研究者の言葉を紹介します。
「我々は今までアラブの国々でのホロコーストの体験をあまり熱心に見てこなかったため、
これらの話は現在になって初めて明るみに出てきています。しかし、もう一つの理由は、
ユダヤ人を救ったアラブ人は、見つけてほしくないからです。彼らは自分がユダヤ人を救った
事を認めるのに前向きではありません。」

ホロコーストの時代に、ユダヤ人を救ったアラブ人をイスラエル政府が国民を守った人として
表彰しています。しかし、アラブ人としては今回が初めてだそうです。
きっと民族の争い以前の問題として、苦しむ人を見て、人として当然の事として救ったのでしょう。
